Telling a Story Through Text

Chances are you’ve probably seen those creepy ads on YouTube which tells horror stories through text. Now it’s your turn to tell a story. It can be horror, comical, or serious… it is up to you! Grab a friend (or two phones and text yourself back and forth) and text each other to tell a story. Before you start texting, make sure to turn on the camera so you can record the story or download an app to record your screen. (5 Stars)

The Work Itself:

Behind the Work:

We all have that one friend… That one that you’ve been friends with so long, but 90% of the time they don’t really improve a problem you may have. Well that’s how I tried to lay out this assignment. Yes, it is a boring conversation; however, I think it is something we can all relate to. We all have a friend like this, and you’d think that we wouldn’t be friends with that person any more; however, throughout the years, conversations like these just become normal and you learn how to deal with it. This friend is the one that you go to, to vent about something, but never has the answers to your venting; however, through just talking to someone you figure out the answer to your problem. Everyone has these friends.

The Process:

I started by going to the general settings on my iPhone and scrolled down to the “Control Center”. Once I was there, I clicked “Customize Controls” and turned on “Screen Recording”. Next I swiped up (like you’re opening up your flashlight) and clicked on the screen record button. It gave me three seconds so I hurried back to my messages. I used two phones to create the conversation. Once I was done, I stopped the screen recording and uploaded it here on my blog.
